I am writing to solicit your help in identifying excellent undergraduate or=
graduate students, alumni, or others who may be interested in pursuing a P=
hD degree in Health Policy and Management (HPM) at Indiana University (IU).=
The HPM PhD program is housed in the Department of Health Policy and Manag=
ement in the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health on the IUPUI camp=
us. IUPUI, located in downtown Indianapolis, is the health and life science=
campus of Indiana University and the focal point of health profession educ=
ation in the State of Indiana.

Generous funding, which typically includes tuition fee remission, stipend, =
and health insurance, is available for outstanding students. Our program fa=
culty members are nationally recognized for their research, with particular=
expertise in the areas of health information technology, health policy and=
law, healthcare organizations, health impact assessment, and mental health=
services research. Moreover, our faculty members have a diverse research f=
unding portfolio that includes current grants and contracts from the NIH, A=
HRQ, SAMHSA, NCAA, and the State of Indiana. Our department faculty and stu=
dents also benefit from close relationships with the IU School of Medicine,=
the IU Kelley School of Business, the Regenstrief Institute, the Indiana C=
linical and Translational Sciences Institute, the Indiana Hospital Associat=
ion, the Indiana State Department of Health, the Indiana State Division of =
Mental Health and Addiction, and healthcare providers and professional orga=
nizations throughout the state and nation.

In short, our department is ideally positioned to educate PhD students inte=
rested in developing the necessary analytical, methodological, and professi=
onal skills needed to tackle the many health policy and management challeng=
es facing our nation and world. Graduates of our program will be well-posit=
ioned for research positions in academia, government, and industry.
